William Boyle was another who started young, reportedly playing the pipes from the age of five and from nine was also a champion highland dancer. In NZ he was considered a 'child prodigy' in both arts.
He won his first championship at eleven and continued winning in solo competition for many years. He was also Pipe Major of NZ Scottish Regiment.
Teacher, judge, composer and performer Bill was the backbone of Highland Bagpiping in New Zealand for many years.
Originally released on 'Master Records' in New Zealand,recorded in the early-mid 70s,a first time on CD in 2002.
