Lumiere formed four years ago, when two distinctive, acclaimed, award-winning and hugely talented solo artists from the Irish folk scene, Éilís Kennedy and Pauline Scanlon, found common root in their hometown of Dingle Co Kerry, its culture and its song, and a common mission in voice.

"We're singing songs that our families have passed on to us, that we ourselves have picked up along the way. The only other pre-requisite is that the songs speak to us emotionally."
