The Peatbog Faeries are......
Based on the Isle of Skye, The Peatbog Faeries have released four albums and have played to audiences all over the world. Recent highlights have been tours in Australia and America as well as prominent festivals and gigs around the UK and Europe. 2005 sees the band promoting their new album,"Croftwork" with some extensive touring, including festivals such as Glastonbury and Beautiful Days. Previous highlights for the band included a tour of Namibia and Botswana, playing the main stage at midnight at Glasgow's massive Millennium celebrations, televised appearance at Celtic Connections and festival dates in England, Denmark, Spain, Holland & Belgium, tours of the Czech Republic and Singapore and the USA. Their music has been used for several TV and DVD soundtracks, they have undertaken numerous TV and radio performances, as well as being commissioned by Scottish Ballet for an original piece performed for the first time in the Citizen's Theatre in Glasgow.
Released on 25th April 2005 on the bands own Peatbog Records label, the Peatbogs fourth album "Croftwork" is their most ambitious and dynamic offering to date. After the success of "Welcome to Dun Vegas", the new album was always going to by a challenge. But with some inventive new material, a couple of special guests and a top class brass section, the band feel they have created an album they can be proud of. The Peatbogs released their third album "Welcome to Dun Vegas" on July 28th 2003 on Peatbog Records. It has sold well and has enjoyed some great reviews including 5 stars from the Glasgow Herald (see reviews below). "Mellowocity" and "Faerie Stories", the Peatbogs first two albums, remain two of Greentrax Recordings best ever selling albums.
