Biography

Fiddle player Donald Grant's debut album "The Way Home" combines the music of his homeland ( Scottish Highlands ) with contemporary influences absorbed through his many travels as a musician. Still in his twenties Donald has performed throughout the world and collaborated with an eclectic array of musicians from the folk.jazz.classical and pop genres.

This much awaited album features some of the most renowned artists in folk music including Karen Matheson and Donald Shaw Catriona McKay and Fionan de Barra , James MacIntosh
and Seamus Egan.

Seamus has also done a wonderful job producing the album. It was recorded with the complete line up of the band and strings to keep the energy and spontaneity of a live gig.

Although the album features traditional tunes, the majority are self penned including a Gaelic song co-written with his father. His father was a Gaelic singer and teacher and taught Donald Gaelic songs from an early age.
