FIRST HEARING:
A 'Piping Recital Challenge" conjures up all sorts of nasty things being done with a rather odd weapon, albeit the 'war-pipes'.
The tune list suggests a bit of a 'free-for-all' as the tracks are a bit more than the standard competition piobaireachd and/or march, strathspey & reel.
The top class players on this disc appear to have chosen their own particular favourites and gone out to impress the rather enthusiastic audience.
Each player is featured on between 3 and 7 tracks though no reason is given for this.
Regardless the crowd sound like they are having a jolly good time.
And the pipers are on good form too, as you would expect from such quality piping talent.
