Though long a star of the Scottish Country Dance scene, Charlie's own tastes spread much further afield when it came to fiddle music, as he shows here.
Charlie was a regular member of the John Carmichael SDB and Ceilidh band.

Charlie Cowie was not only a great soloist but was a member of the Riverside CBand.
Because of his early death this band was
disbanded.A great loss!
John Carmichael, leader of he mentioned band, had to get along without him.
Marie Fielding was to take over his place and their successes continued, but the sound of the Riverside CB never continued
despite the good contributions of Marie
Fielding, playing in several other bands, for example Tom Orr.
