Yes,leader is Alan Kindness,and he once sent a letter to Take The Floor with the statement,that,today's SDB's have lost their individual style of playing.
In quite a lot of cases he's right,today's
SDB's are not playing,but rushing things,
but,to me,today's main problem is the
material,played.SDB's are playing each
others new compositions for the half of the session,completed with Bostons and Missisippy Dips.Quite a lot of authentic material is hidden away in the cupboard and locked up and nobody knows something about this(..)I could name you a lot of such tunes!
Alan Kindness still plays material,which you won't hear anymore today.
It was a pleasure to listen to his recordings,offered on this site!
Maybe,is that the reason for it,that they are not on the fore today?
