FIRST HEARING:
Opening with a very strong drum roll and into a strident march, off down Princes Street go the Edinburgh City Police Pipe Band, World Pipe Band Champions in 1950 & 1954 with P/M D.S.Ramsey - all as featured here in this 1956 album.
The band went on to win the World Championship on another five occasions, albeit with different Pipe Majors.
A lively recording this with a good balance between pipes and drums that adds plenty of punch to the proceedings.
Well worth a listen.
