From Sleeve Notes: The Summer Isles are a beautiful group of islands lying in the mouth of Loch Broom in the Highlands of Scotland. As well as being a natural wildlife haven, the fantastic anchorage on Tanera Mor has led to years of interesting settlements. There are many stories,myths and artworks inspired by the islands and one of the most well known publications is
"Island Years" by conservationist ,Frank Fraser Darling. "Island Years" has been a great source of material for this album alongside a book of Gaelic poems, "Trowel
in my Hand" by Mairearad's relative, the poet Neil MacLeod.
