If you want holiday music full of celtic fire, this isn't it. The singing here is so laid back and bland that it's almost soporific. The style is strongly reminiscent of the 1960s-1970s Radio 2 show "Sing Something Simple"; the sort of stuff they used to play as background music in lifts and shopping centres.

Having said all that, I did find myself enjoying the record on its own terms - calming, soothing, nostalgic. The sort of music that belongs to a gentler, more innocent age, and would be enjoyed by anyone who finds Val Doonican or Des O'Connor a bit too racy.
