Biography

Kathleen MacInnes Biography (Courtesy of the Artist's site).

Kathleen MacInnes lives in Glasgow with her partner Tommy and her 3 sons, her background is in Gaelic TV Radio, Film and Theatre but in the last few years, especially after the release of her first album, 'Og Mhadainn Shamhraidh,' she has become better known for her voice.

2010 saw the release of Ridley Scott's Hollywood Blockbuster film 'Robin Hood' which features Kathleen's vocals. Ridley Scott commented on her vocal during the mix of the movie saying, "Kathleen has a very natural powerful voice! Beautiful!".

Another highlight of 2010 was singing at the spectacular event at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, 'The Papal Visit'. Pope Benedict XV1 came to Scotland and she was delighted to be part of that special day.

Scotland on Sunday awarded her debut album as "Best Folk Album released in 2006":

"She has unique vocal colour and an ability to breathe dramatic life into her songs - she's also an actress and television presenter, and her first album is a beauty. With accompaniments by some of Gaeldom's best singers including Cathy Ann MacPhee and Julie Fowlis, and top folk instrumentalists from Capercaillie's Donald Shaw and Michael McGoldrick to fiddler John McCusker, this is a quality recording from top producer/musician Iain MacDonald" Norman Chalmers.

Kathleen's second solo album is coming soon.
