Johnny Reidy comes from Scartaglin in the heart of Sliabh Luachra. He was born into a family steeped in traditional music.
At an early age his love of music was encouraged by his Uncle Willie, himself a well known musician. Willie taught Johnny the accordion and in a very short time Johnny was well known on the Feis Ceol and Fleadh Ceol circuit winning 74 prizes in 74 competititions and he won the most prestigious of all competitions at an early age.
Johnny is an accomplished musician and plays many instruments but his first love has always been the accordion. Johnny enjoys playing all types of traditional music but he is best known for his lovely rendition of the Polka Set,music and crowds avail of all opportunities to dance to his lovely music.
