Robert Burns ( 1759-1796 ) was not just a brilliant poet, he was a natural musician as well. He wrote dozens of songs, all set to melodies that were around at the time, and some tunes he skilfully adapted to make the song even more affective.
To me, Rabbie's sentiments and observations feel just as contemporary as those of the great modern songwriters such as Lennon & McCartney or Elton John, so i wanted to try and create an album to show that Burns is as relevant at the start of the 21st Century as he was at the end of the 18th Century.
Above all the album aims to be fun - highligting Rabbie's incredible love of life.
