Before the 'Big Event' the Grade One bands who were not placed in the prize-winners in the previous year are invited to play their MSR in a Qualifying Heat, on the morning of the finals. The top six are then invited to join the other already qualified bands to compete for the BIG PRIZE - The World Pipe Bands Championship.
Stiil Grade One but on the day it just did not go their way.
